What you WILL see at your first Mixed Martial Arts Class at St. Louis Training CircleWhen you first walk into our MMA class at our St. Louis MO training studio, you'll come in through the front door and tell the people at the desk that you are with the St. Louis Training Circle MMA Class. They should direct you to the big green sliding door at the very end of the hallway.. You'll walk through a lounge area that is open to all tenants of the studios and is supplied with vending machines for water, soda and energy drinks. You'll walk straight down the hall to the big, heavy green door that blocks the entrance to our training studio. Slide the heavy door to the right (push hard, sometimes it sticks), and as you walk in you will hear quiet, friendly conversation and see guys standing around in open groups wrapping their hands for boxing practice. You'll see two large fighting rings with padded floors, some punching bags, and some open space for informal training. Someone will notice you and step forward to introduce and welcome you. You'll immediately see no one has anything to prove - and no one wants you to prove anything. Everyone who shows up to be a friend is a friend. There will be some informal conversation as we get to know you, and first we'll teach you your boxing / fighting stance and how to cover yourself to defend against some basic punches - and also how to throw those punches. Each concept is reinforced with drills (games) performed at progressively greater levels of resistance. This means the drills start off simple, with little resistance, so that you can get the fundamental concept. But then, as you get better, the resistance is increased until you are performing the fighting / wrestling / boxing technique against a FULLY RESISTING OPPONENT. You will be shown techniques that are the FUNDAMENTALS of fighting, and the fundamentals of mixed martial arts. You will see people practicing only high percentage moves - fighting techniques that work most of the time, against most of the people you will encounter. You will see people smiling, having fun, and getting a fantastic workout. You will see that friendly people are quickly "part of the pack" around here. We train in a spirit of fun and friendship at our mixed martial arts classes, and that will be immediately evident. And, believe it or not, most people who come to our MMA workouts see themselves improve considerably after their very first boxing or grappling class. We've had workout partners claim they learned more at just 4 of our 2 hour workouts than they learned in years of standard, traditional martial arts training. You will also see, on the way home, that you feel G O O D. The sensation is very similar to the feeling a person has after a yoga workout. Everything in your body feels T I R E D from the enormous amount of exercise you have given yourself, but CONTENT as well. But to see these things, you have to come to your first class. The first class is free, because we want you to see what we have to offer. We're a club - not a class. When you come here you receive a great workout while learning the most effective self-defense systems available, with revolutionary FUN training methods. We work out, we play games, we train Mixed Martial Arts - and we want you to join us. Send us an email and we'll send you directions to our training studio.
