St. Louis Training Circle MMA Club is a unique opportunity in St. Louis to train the fighting sciences that compose Mixed Martial Arts in a safe and healthy environment. We train Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling - and we have a great time doing it. We have an accelerated training method that will teach you to fight, teach you quickly, and teach you well. We build fighters brick-by-brick and make certain a fighter is not only good, but is good at every aspect of the game. This brick-by-brick methodology sets us apart from the other MMA Gyms in the area.
We train MMA combat sport as a form of growth and self-development. We use MMA training for more than just fight training - we find our training regime makes us more useful to our families and more skillful in our careers. Many of us took up the study of fighting with the idea that we were trying to learn to fight. We did in fact learn to fight - and we fight well - but more importantly we became self-directed adults. Jiu-Jitsu training taught us to solve life's challenges with determined direct action, and to feel good about it, too. Martial Arts study has always been regarded as a form of Yoga for self-growth, and at our gym this is fully understood and practiced.
MMA Clases often teach a confusing, mixed-up curriculum that makes new students feel a bit lost. We utilize our Hydra Active Flowchart System to help you quickly (and visually) fill in the fundamentals of your fight game. After you learn your basics, you can then utilize the Hydra Flowchart to develop your own style and guide your own learning. This is very different from the inflexible traditional instruction systems present at almost all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gyms.
When you start your training with us, you fill in your fundamentals quickly, and then you choose and train skillsets that fit your personal style. Mentors and coaches will help make certain the skills are learned fully and completely and lead to the greatest overall understanding of your combat sport. This mentor style of learning ensures you will always enjoy what you are working on, and will enjoy a quicker learning curve.
Most Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gyms (including those in St. Louis) require beginning students to start their Jiu-Jitsu training with the jacket on (the Jiu Jitsu "Gi"). They do not teach No-Gi Jiu Jitsu to beginners. If you are a beginner, and you show up at their door, they will not teach you a No-Gi curriculum - they will require you to wrestle and learn to wrestle with a Jiu-Jitsu jacket (the "gi").
No-Gi Jiu -Jitsu is the style of Jiu Jitsu seen in MMA cagefighting. It involves two contestants wrestling for position and submission and they do depend on the jacket to control the opponent. We are the only gym in St. Louis at this time that will teach beginners No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu on their very first day. We are the only gym in St. Louis that currently Specializes in No-Gi Grappling. We also train No-Gi Judo, and we do it well. Very few clubs in the USA specialize in training No-Gi Judo for MMA. We offer area fighters the chance to train both at our gym, and to train them as beginners from day one.
In the following pages on this site we will explain that you can train MMA safely, in a healthy environment. We will show you that this kind of training has a much faster learning curve than the other methods currently on offer. And we will show you that we have way more fun than the "beat on you to teach you" gym members. Our contest successes and medals our fighters have won prove that our method isn't just more fun and safer, but it works better.
Our training methods are unique and effective. Our classroom environment is symbiotic and synergistic. We help each other train and learn.
